5 Ways to Flirt After the Honeymoon Stage
January 31st, 2013
Relationships play out in a series of phases, always growing and evolving. Often times, the honeymoon stage consists of flirty dates and dozens of nervous butterflies associated with many marriages. But all too often the flame fades into a faint flicker as a relationship progresses. Moving to the next phase with your partner doesnt mean you should stop flirting or playing "hard-to-get." The psychological effects of flirting with your partner can leave you feeling more connected.
Here are some helpful tips for flirting after the "honeymoon" stage:
1. Get "Touchy-Feely"
Try communicating your feelings for your partner through your body language and actions. By running your hand through their hair or rubbing their shoulder, they will get the message. Something as simple as keeping eye contact will let your partner know you are completely focused on them. While you're out, make the first move by squeezing your partner's leg under the table or sneaking a kiss. They'll be excited to get you home!
2. Show a Little Skin
Instead of throwing on a pair of sweatpants after work, try changing into lounge wear that makes you feel sexy. Showing your partner you're feeling sexy will get them in the same mindset. When you're feeling feisty, sneak away to bed first and surprise your partner with love and affection.
3. Text (or sext) Your Partner Throughout the Day
At various points in the day, send your partner text messages describing what you'd like to do later with them or reminisce about something you both did the night before. ;-) Try to be as detailed as possible -- it'll give them something real to think about and make you both want to rush home at the end of the day.
4. Leave Love Notes in Unexpected Places
Take some time to put together a few short, old-fashioned love notes to hide around the house. Stick one in their car and another on the mirror. These cute notes will remind your partner that you're thinking about them and show you care.
5. Cozy up During a Movie
On your way home from work, pick up a redbox you know you'd both enjoy. Share pillows and a blanket and get ready to snuggle up just like you used to when you first started dating. This simple, romantic gesture is a fun way to get close!
Even after the honeymoon days are over, it's important to continue to find unique ways to flirt with your significant other. Taking the time to plan a night alone or send a flirty text will allow you to relive the early days of your relationship.
